The museum is a result of Calouste Sarkis Gulbenkian’s will, an Armenian that gathered more than 6000 works of art during his life, that are now assembled in this beautiful space. The church, built in the first half of the 16th century, features Manueline and Mannerist architecture. In the second half of the 18th century, it underwent extensive renovations, including the altarpiece, decoration of the chancel, arch, and vault. In the late 19th century, the choir was built, and the nave vaults were decorated. It now houses a nursing home.

Private chapel integrated in a palatial house, dating from the early 18TH century. Inside of a single nave, surrounded by a painted wooden baseboard. The lining of the walls is done with divided by pilasters painted murals and worked in relief. The vaulted ceiling, is covered with painted canvas. To highlight the main altarpiece with a neoclassical painted Panel.
