The Almedina Arch was part of the medieval walls, dating back to the 11th century, as indicated by the Arabic-origin toponym meaning "the city". Today it is the entrance to old Coimbra, where one can see a sculpture from the workshop of João de Ruão. The wall has Roman origins, having been expanded several times. It presents characteristics of Roman, Muslim, Romanesque, Gothic and Manueline architecture.

Consisting of two floors based on a rectangular plant, the facade is disastrous and it highlights the structural elements, whose traces are simple and sober. Today only preserved a part of the Palace before, why are no longer some characteristic elements of this architecture, beyond which are still visible the damage caused by projectiles, in 1810.

The early church was built in the 16th century, which remains the Manueline portal. In 1970 was destroyed to make way for that today. The façade is rounded and consists of nave, chancel, belfry and vestry. Inside you can see 17TH century tiles and a wooden bench at the entrance, 1635, rebuilt during the rebuilding of the new Church. Currently, in late August, receives the feasts of Nossa Senhora do Desterro.

This granite monument, shaped like a mushroom, stands over 2 meters tall. It has a peculiar morphology, resembling a mushroom, with the base narrower than the top, and the height greater. Its symbolism became an attraction, as it was customary for local girls to throw a stone at the menhir to find out if their marriage was imminent. Each lost stone represented a year of waiting. Today, it is still observed on the first Monday of Easter.
