Os pinhões são um ingrediente muito utilizado em pratos típicos e doces um pouco por todo o Alentejo. As pinhoadas são um bom exemplo, sendo que facilmente se podem provar em Alcácer do Sal. Desconhece-se a sua origem e a quando remontam, mas estão em Alcácer há muito tempo, pois a produção de mel e pinhão nesta zona vem do tempo dos romanos e a junção destes dois ingredientes já era feita pelos muçulmanos (séculos IX e X) num manjar que estará na base da pinhoada.

O espaço da Adega dos Frades surge como se fosse uma extensão do Mosteiro da Batalha, a poucos metros de distância. Uma homenagem a uma das salas mais importantes do monumento, o claustro D. João I, como se fosse um local onde os frades trocassem as orações pelas refeições. A cozinha cuidada incorpora surpresas como a pasta de chícharo (uma leguminosa recentemente reabilitada pela região), a entremeada recheada de enchidos, o risotto de cogumelos selvagens ou o duo de cabrito e borrego com risotto de favas.

O restaurante Camané, localizado no centro de Alcoutim, herdou a alcunha do proprietário. Os sabores regionais são o prato do dia deste espaço, que preserva a tradição gastronómica. Cozido de grão, cabidela ou açorda de galinha e ensopado de borrego com pão frito são algumas das especialidades da casa. O javali estufado, o coelho frito e a perdiz à algarvia marcam também presença na carta, visto esta ser uma zona privilegiada de caça. Para a sobremesa, as tradicionais torta de amêndoa e torta de alfarroba fazem as delícias do visitante.
