This space integrates a collection of archaeological remains of great importance for reconstructing the city's history. Here you can find traces from the medieval and modern periods, and even from the Roman era and the Iron Age.

Located in a strategic location in the municipality, from Refóios Lima, the Casa de São Mamede, was recovered from a small school. Has the capacity for groups of up to ten people, with a privileged view of the river Lima.

In this temple, which was the aim of many reforms through the centuries, it is worth to mention the lateral chapel from the 14th century, the Manueline main chapel with cruised arch decorated and the carving from the 17th and 18th centuries.

The main façade from the church presents a portico with two archivolts with a lancet arch. On the inside stands out the Spanish – Arab glazed tiles on the main altar and one image from the 14th century in limestone.

A building dating from the 19th century, currently the official residence of the Regional President of the Azores. Inside, highlights include some 18th and 19th-century furniture and a collection of tiles from old churches on the island.

Set of two steps from Via Sacra, probably dating from the 17th century or 18th century. Are formed by rectilinear niches, flanked by columns or pilasters and, at the top, has a Latin cross and pyramidal spires.

Dated from the 16th century, from the original pillory it only persisted the end in square pyramid with the national and town Coat of Arms, the armillary sphere and Malta Cross that were inserted during this century reconstruction.

This is one of the newer restaurants from the docks and, as the name indicates, presents its guests with delicacies from the sea. The view is to the river Tagus, a sunny terrace which extends over the dock in intimate contact with the water.

In 1863, practically 100 years after th construction of the palace, Francis Cook asked Francis Birt to create the Monserrate Park. The park has thousands of trees and plants from different locations in the world. The most exotic come from Japan (bamboos) and from America (yuccos). A special note as well to the several grottos, waterfalls, lakes and corners of the park.
