In 1988, the Praia Grande was classified a "Praia Dourada” (meaning golden beach) by the Ministry of the Environment. To highlight the event, a walking trail is proposed to all that visit the beach. The tour is designed so that visitors can best enjoy and appreciate the landscape and existing natural heritage. The trail is split into two walking paths, each around two kilometers long.
