The decision to build a golf course on the grounds of the Quinta de Benamor was taken in 1986. The owner, the Martins Family Days, invited the Sir Henry Cotton to develop the project of a field of 18 holes. Sir Henry was inspired by the old chapel near the ClubHouse and the spectacular location. During the construction, many changes were instigated by people involved in the different stages of construction.
