The garden is a typical north country 18th century composition with a monumental and quite elaborate granite fountain with a religious decor - niches, volutes and arches. A small fountain. The visits must be reserved with the tourism office.

The Marquês garden is surrounded by plane-trees and those who visit may enjoy the lakes with water games that give this place a peaceful atmosphere. The iron bandstand, an offer of the city people, stands out.

Place with an excellent view over the mountain area inside the Funchal Island and where one may observe a vast area of green. It is a great spot to take a break while you’re visiting the island.

Founded in the early 18th century, by a group of hermits who lived in the Sierra, suffered extensive damage in the earthquake of 1755 and was deactivated in 1834. The convent is in an advanced state of disrepair and is not advisable to visit to your interior.

The Pisão mills are located on the banks of the Paiva River. On the right bank there are two of them and on the other bank only one. The mills are well signposted and have good access. It is a visit that you cannot miss.
