The Trancão River, formerly known as the Sacavém River, runs for about thirty kilometers, starting in the parish of Milharado, in Mafra and flowing into the sea in Sacavém. Since 1999, it has had a WWTP in Frielas, with the capacity to treat sewage for 700,000 inhabitants.

Located between the village of Maceira and Praia do Porto Novo, the spa of Fonte dos Frades is part of the spa resort of Vimeiro, in a scenic setting surrounded by magnificent gardens, in the valley of the Alcabrichel River. The water from this source is sodium-magnesian chlorinated, with a total mineralization of 3,200 mg/liter.

A lagoon with a length of 2500 metres and a width of 130 metres, located in the Estrela Mountain Natural Park, near the Escura, Seca and Redonda lagoons. The mountain scenery stands out for being covered with grass, due to the abundant rainfall. Huge granite blocks are also visible.

One of the five existing waterfalls in the Loriga and Alvôco brooks, all sharing the same name. A space of great natural beauty, ideal for swimming in the hottest days.

In the Natural Park of Alvão, about 5 kilometres away from the centre of Vila Real, the 20 metres tall Galegos da Serra waterfall shows itself majestic. Due to the intense fracturation one can clearly view deep alterations in the granite. The mill of Ribeira de Arnal (road Agarez/Galegos da Serra) completes this unique watercolour of Trás-os-Montes.

Arch-vault dam located on the Dão River (Mondego Hydrographic Basin). It was completed in 1984 and supplies the municipalities of Mangualde, Nelas, Viseu and Penalva do Castelo.

Arch-vault dam on the Zêzere River, near its confluence with the Nabão. It was completed in 1951 as part of the national policy for the use of hydroelectric resources. The reservoir, with an extension of about 60 km, offers enviable conditions for sports and contact with nature. It is an important strategic water reserve, supplying around three million people daily, the overwhelming majority of Greater Lisbon. The Tagus River flows into the beautiful Tagus estuary, after traveling 875 km from the Serra de Albarracín. The estuary is a place well known for the passage of migratory birds. One of the few terrestrial accesses can be made near Porto Alto (in Reta do Cabo).

These thermal waters spring at an altitude of 560 meters, about 3.5 kilometers northwest of Almeida. The complex consists of a Balneotherapy treatment area, gyms, sauna, Turkish baths, massage rooms and a medical area. It is aimed at well-being and stress fighting, as well as the treatment of respiratory, skin, rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases.

This small lagoon, located on the river Troço, has a natural waterfall and offers a serene and wild landscape. On the banks of the river are visible ruins of old oil mills and mills.
