Route about 4 km which allows, as a first step to walk along the river and see all the surrounding vegetation, especially Oaks, yews, Oaks, Alders and willows. In the second stage of the route, following the River, you can enjoy the beauty of the waterfalls. After passing the highest cascade, begins to climb the cliffs towards the North, where you can show small nuclei of vegetation that miraculously survive there.

Pedestrian trail with a length of around eight kilometers, along which you will pass through beautiful green fields and some small waterfalls. The trail runs along Rua de São José, with Ribeira das Barrelas on your right. This path presents several views over the south coast of São Miguel Island and, on days with good visibility, you can even see Santa Maria Island.

Placed at the Palácio Pimenta, a manor dated from the early XVIII century; in this space you may see archaeological pieces, paintings, drawings, engravings and lapidary that illustrate the city of Lisbon, since the prehistoric period till nowadays. Religious type architecture consisting of: nave, chancel, vestry and Bell Tower. The façade, in granite, is preceded by staircase which ends at wooden door, on top by a rectangular window. At the top you can see the Latin cross and, next, the Bell duo Tower. The interior retains the wooden floors, the tiles on the walls and the altarpieces of carved and gilded white, one dedicated to the image of the Virgin and the other to the Senhor dos Passos.

This residential estate was built by orders of D. João de Castro, viceroy in India and afterwards it suffered profound changes. It is possible to find several chapels throughout the estate, one of which is named Nossa Senhora do Monte and it is a construction under the Renaissance style, from 1542. It has a circular plan and on its inside it is possible to see six columns with capitals and ashlars in tiles from the XVII century.
