The Miguel Torga Space was conceived as a space for art, culture and literature, intended not only to evoke and perpetuate the work of one of the great Portuguese authors of the 20th century, but also to testify to his deep connection to the Douro and Trás-os-Montes and projecting the region’s identity internationally.

Located south of Chaves, between Valpaços and Vila Pouca de Aguiar, the mountain range is part of the Trás-os-Montes Ancient Massif and is 10 kilometers long. From the top, views over the entire region are enjoyed, with highlights including Oura, Vidago, and Vilarinho.

Situated at an altitude of 474 meters, Évora Monte Castle offers a beautiful view of the Alentejo plains. To the north, one can glimpse the Serra de São Mamede. To the south, the landscape is dominated by the houses of Évora and the Serra de Mendro. Further east, the verdant eucalyptus forest of Serra da Ossa paints the Alentejo landscape.

It is believed that this location, known as Fraga of the Cat and located north of the village of Walls, about 1100 meters above sea level, is an ancient settlement. It is a small elevation in the middle of the plateau of Mourela, where several ceramic fragments were found consistent with ancient occupation of the site. Structural alignments are visible, apparent and in some branch points in the boulders. Northwest side are still two large walls, about two meters wide, spaced about twenty meters. Located about 8 km away from Penafiel, this is one of the celtic villages of the parish, named Citânia do Monte Mozinho, probably the largest in the Iberian Peninsula.
