This is one of the busiest river beaches in the region. Located near two typical schist villages, Oliveiras and Pedreira, this beach benefits from the clear waters of the Ribeira de Froia, numerous shady spots, and small waterfalls. It has a park and a children's beach. A visit to the restored windmills is a must.

This castle possessed one of the best defensive border walls. Currently, only a few gates, sections of the wall, and towers crowning the hilltop remain. Several anthropomorphic tombs are also preserved near the east gate. The convent was founded by Justa Rodrigues Pereira, wet nurse of King Manuel I, in 1490, during the reign of King John II. The name comes from the fact that the farm belonged to Luís Gomes Mata, "Correio-Mor" (chief of the post delivery) at the time of Filipe II.
