Situated in the middle region of Trás-os-Montes, quinta do Fundo is located on the waterfront of the rivers Tâmega and Cabril, within a few miles of the waterfalls of the Slings of Ermelo and around the perimeter of the Alvão Natural Park. In 1938 it returned to the State after belonging for a century to the Costa Cabral family, who had acquired it together with the Convent of Christ. The flora is rich, and you can find, for example, pines and wild pines, oaks, oak trees, cypresses and centuries-old olive trees. Also noteworthy is the Charolinha, a small classic temple turned into an island by the surrounding lake.

This hill belongs to the Old Massif and is placed between the Larouco, Cabreira and Marão mountains. To the north, the hill separates the basins of the Cávado and Tâmega rivers. It is also known by the name of Serra as Alturas (Hill of the Heights), it is 8 km long and it is located on the northwest of the Trás-os-Montes region. The Carvalhelhos springs are located there.

The GR 30 "Section of Sobral de Monte Agraço Municipality" is a large pedestrian route, about 16 Km, which is part of the route of the lines of Torres.

Located near the São Pedro do Sul thermae, in a deep valley surrounded by cliffs, with the so.called Hell Portal to the west. This villag is composed of small schist houses and narrow streets with vines. The inhabitants are farmers and shepherds, mostly corn farmers. It has one of the biggest communal goat herds in the country.
