The construction began in 1610 as the Paço de D. Brites Lara (Palace), and in 1657 the Ordem das Carmelitas feminine convent, space where the church is integrated, was built. By the end of the XVII century the pulpits were built and the dressing in golden woodcarving began. In the next century the referred woodcarving was combined with azulejos (glazed tiles) from the Vital Rifarto factory. Already at the XX century, the building suffered repair works, being classified as National Monument.

Even though it was initially destined to become a nuns convent, it ended up as the collge of the priests of the Companhia de Jesus at the time it was finished. In 1766 the Diocesano Seminar was established here and made enlargement works. Of this monument the most elaborated window, of 1749, a large window of 1685 and the tower, of 1930, stand out. Inside, a special note to the three domes with crosswork arches and the corbels, on the ceiling, the high altar, the choir, the cloister and the sacristy, for the painted panels on the ceiling.

The primitive monastery, called Monastery of São Salvador de Grijó, was founded in 922 in the place of Muraceses. It was only in the year 1112 that it was moved to its current location. In 1770 the convent was extinguished, passing its assets to the Convent of Mafra. Of note are the gilded carvings and the 18th century tiles in the chancel, as well as the pipe organ, from the end of the 18th century and beginning of the 19th century. Also noteworthy is the tomb of D. Rodrigo Sanches, classified as a National Monument.

The approximate 175 km of the Lima river (67 km in Portugal) end in the beautiful city of Viana do Castelo, with the Santa Luzia belvedere well on the top. Its mouth is also a boating area of extreme importance in the North of Portugal and in Galicia. We can find two recreational docks (one upstream and another downstream of the train bridge). Further ahead, the commercial port, the fishing port and the shipyards mark the transition to the Atlantic Ocean with a wharf.

Located on the left bank of the Arado river, this small stretch of sand has excellent lansdscapes. Quite pleasant and lovely, the Molhe Beach is sided by the Pintadinho Beach. A stone and cement sea wall separates the beaches (and the river from the sea) and ends in a small, yet lovely lighthouse. It is an excellent option to watch the fishermen or jog a little. To get to the beach, one may follow the river to its mouth or descend a steep cliff, at the Pintadinho Beach.

Inserted on the upper floor of the restaurant tea house which gives the name and with which it shares a careful decoration of exotic and oriental inspiration. The menu also reflects these trends, offering vegetarian options, which you can savour in theme rooms or in the garden, along with a nice cup of tea of the immense list available. In the end, may also acquire one of 300 teas to enjoy at home. Open for lunch on weekdays and dinner buffet on Friday and Saturday.

In 1988, the Praia Grande was classified a "Praia Dourada” (meaning golden beach) by the Ministry of the Environment. To highlight the event, a walking trail is proposed to all that visit the beach. The tour is designed so that visitors can best enjoy and appreciate the landscape and existing natural heritage. The trail is split into two walking paths, each around two kilometers long. These are: the trilho nascente (rising sun trail) and the trilho poente (setting sun trail).

The Ibis Evora hotel is situated 700 metres from the Centre of Évora, opposite the municipal park and close to the arenas. Opened in 1999, this hostel offers good facilities and the possibility to get to know the heritage of this region. The Archaeological Park of the Coa Valley, where it is exposed a set of engravings about 30 thousand years, deserves a visit. This area presents conditions for the practice of adventure sports-related activities. It offers 11 double rooms with toilet, nine double rooms without toilet, seven multiple rooms and an apartment with four beds and kitchenette.

The Municipal Museum of Palmela is a set of museum spaces, the most important of which is the Castle Nucleus which, in itself, comprises four zones: Archaeological Space (in situ reading of the history of the fortification), Medieval Occupation and Reconquista, Casa Capelo (history of Palmela and the Order of Santiago) and Military Broadcast Space. In addition to this nucleus, the S. Tiago Visitable Reserve, the Church of Santiago and the Wine and Vine Center are also open to the public — as a permanent exhibition.
