House plant irregular rectangular housing with two floors, surrounded by extensive fenced land with a fence, integrated within the limits of the farmhouse of tiles. The access is made from the inside, since the outward facade has no doors. Founded by the vow of Dona Maria, wife of Alfonso XI of Castile, it is a fully vaulted Greek cross chapel-fortress. At the top of the main façade stands a bell tower with a bronze bell. The building is topped, all around, by a coronation of merlons and battlements of a clearly defensive nature. Also notable are mural paintings depicting figures of saints, according to nineteenth-century copies, framed by stucco moldings.

This 16th-century chapel preserves the Manueline portal and inscribed tombstones on its main façade. On both sides are buttresses, topped by conical pinnacles, supporting the coffered vault covering the chapel's single nave. The walls are covered in 18th-century tiles. It has a single nave and a chancel with star-shaped vaults supported by corbels, Manueline decorative elements on the clasps, vault-flush corbels, and also on the portal.

Chapel built in the 16th century, under the protection of the Archbishop Alexander of Braganza and with the contribution of the architect Francisco de Mora, responsible for the plant. In January 2005 the intervention works were initiated for recovery and boosting the building multipurpose cultural, tourist and social level.
