This temple has three naves with main chapel with a square plan, sturdy bell tower and renaissance doorway framed by two abutments on the façade. The main chapel is vaulted (in star) and the medallions are decorated with crosses. The main door is in plain arch topped by an angular pediment and framed by abutments. On the inside there are three naves with ranks divided by perfectly vaulted arches. It is worthy to mention the pulpit and the altarpiece on the main altar in rococo carving.

A revivalist palace with an iregular plan, where one should notice the façades, totally coated with stonework, the main portal which gives access to the atrium with friezes and stucco medallions, some involving mural paintings, and the main hall with two paintings on the ceiling surrounded by stucco oval fringes. One should also notice the the rooms decorated by painted vegetalist friezes, festoons, landscape painted medallions and angels.

This residential estate was built by orders of D. João de Castro, viceroy in India and afterwards it suffered profound changes. It is possible to find several chapels throughout the estate, one of which is named Nossa Senhora do Monte and it is a construction under the Renaissance style, from 1542.
