This church was built on top of another church, whose founding is legendary and attributed to D. Afonso Henriques. In the 18th century, the façade was rebuilt, displaying an interesting Baroque style. Inside, a marbled stucco main altarpiece with a gilded throne and some 18th-century tiles inspired by Dutch models stand out.

Inside the building, it is worthy to mention the Main Room, the dining room from the ends of the 18th century and painted in frescoes by Pillement. The Queen D. Carlota Joaquina was incarcerated here after refusing to swear loyalty to the 1822 Constitution. Presently it has the São José College belonging to the Portuguese Dominican Sisters.

Work ordered to be built by King Afonso V, almost at the end of his reign. It is assumed that it was completed in 1481, as this was a work that was extremely contested by the people, given the determination of a collection applied to Évora's wines. However, the work was completed during the reign of D. Manuel II, as can be seen in the vault on the second floor.

Megalithic monuments consisting of two menhirs situated relatively close to each other. It is a monolith carved from a block of greywacke, dark gray in color, with a brown patinated surface. It has a star-like appearance, an ellipsoidal cross-section, and measures a little over three meters in height, making it the largest example of greywacke known to date in Portugal. Everything indicates that these menhirs were built in the second half of the fourth millennium BC. The site is surrounded by a net, so it can only be visited from the outside.

Nazaré beach, located in a beautiful bay, is very popular with tourists and surrounded by lush cliffs, where a panoramic elevator operates. Every Saturday, from May to June, there are demonstrations of the Xávega art, a type of dragnet fishing on the verge of extinction, characterized by casting a net approximately 500 meters from the coast, which is then pulled ashore by oxen. Also typical are the so-called "paneiros" (pans) placed on the sand, where the fish is dried. The main avenue becomes a tourist attraction not only for the beach but also for its commercial and food areas.

Forte da Baleeira

Baleeira fort was built around 1573 and was part of a group of forts that were around at the time of the Infante D. Henrique. In 1587 it was attacked by English ships lead by the corsair Sir Francis Drake. During this attack precious archives, as well as the Infante’s library, were lost. Currently only traces of the walls remain.
