This location offers magnificent views over the verdant hills, dotted only by a few houses, over the pointed mountains that dominate the valley, and over a great expanse to the sea, with Ribeira Brava in the background.

A place from where one can view the entire island and some of the islets. During the 16th century a small fortress due to stop the invasions by French and Algerian pirates was built here.

From this viewpoint we can get fine panoramic views over the town from the top, the green hills around and, in the background, the sea. In the surrounding mountains often found herds of cows.

This castro, located on Monte da Senhora do Bom Sucesso, has several archaeological remains attributed to the Bronze and Iron Ages, and to the Roman and Medieval periods. Highlight for the magnificent view it offers.
