Former male convent of the Order of San Francisco composed of a simple rectangular plan, formed by a church and a convent area with two floors. It was built in the 17th century, but has undergone several renovations over the centuries, finding itself very adulterated. Currently, a production farm operates here.

A village where most of the houses are made of granite. The monuments include the mother church with a procession cross and several linen panels with the scenes of the Passion, the pillory, the chapels of Saint António, Saint Bárbara, Our Lady of Penha and Our Lady of Consolação, the old prison and the menhir. The local craftswork includes the manufacturing of baskets.

Due to the rocky base of the wall's sections, the citadel's fortifications are irregular. Inside the fortress, highlights include the Chapel of Santa Bárbara, the round bastion, the large cistern, the casemates, and the entire parade grounds. The citadel served as a political prison from the 18th to the 20th centuries. This space houses the National Museum of Resistance and Freedom.

Contemporaneous of the emblematic and neighbour Clérigos Tower, this building of the XVIII century was, for many years, a prison. On its dungeons were men like the Duque da Terceira (a noble), Zé do Telhado (the portuguese version of Robin wood) e Camilo Castelo Branco (XIX century writer), who wrote there one of the most famous romances, “Amor de Perdição”. The main façade divides in three floors, having a central body slightly salient, on which the entrance portal is.

Baroque chapel probably built in the first half of the 16th century and remodelled in the 18th century. Presents a longitudinal plan with a single rectangular body with main façade in gable of frieze and cornice. This Chapel belonged to the former farm of San Lorenzo, where currently there is the Episcopal Palace of Viana do Castelo.

This religious building was founded in 1708 by Domingos Lourenço Perdigão. It was here that the prisoners out of jail in the area came to fulfill the divine offices. Inside you can see traces of Baroque-style moral. Its architecture is simple, rectangular and the decoration is Baroque, as neatly and can see in primitive murals and outdoor balcony grills.
