O carro de bois é um meio de transporte rural ainda utilizado em Trás-os-Montes. O carro de bois de montanha é puxado por animais, onde sobre a cabeça assentam a canga ou o jugo, enquanto no carro minhoto a canga assenta no pescoço. Nos carros de bois podem utilizar-se "taipais" que encaixam uns nos outros formando uma caixa para transporte de milho, feno e outros cereais.
