Castelo Bom was conquered from the Leonese by D. Dinis, highlighting the defensive role that the wall played during the Middle Ages. In fact, from the castle and fence (reinforced in the Manueline period) still exist a broken arched door and a small ruined tower (classified as a National Monument). Next to the fortification are two 16th century houses and another one next to the mother church. The typical gastronomy includes sausages, roast kid, river fish and pumpkin jam filled with almonds. Embroidery and lace are also typical works of Castelo Bom.

Born in Vila Viçosa, born 1548. His intelligence was appreciated, fact which earned him a one-way ticket to the University to study philosophy. This was followed by training in rhetoric, humanities and Metaphysics at the University of Coimbra. His\/her illustrious figures quickly arrived from other countries. In 1574 already attends the Royal Palace of Évora and the Academy of the Infanta d. Maria. Because the success faded, decided to enter the convent of the infant Jesus da Graça, disillusioned with the ingratitude of those protected. In this convent died, with 47 years.

This building with three naves has a prismatic bell ringer tower with ashlars irregular on the corners, covered by a pyramidal dome and with traces from the Manueline. The altarpiece is in golden carving with a sacrarium with a mannerist structure. It presents a mannerist doorway and on its inside it stands out the glazed tiles coverage from the 17th century and the paintings from the 17th century from Baltazer Gomes and from Josefa de Óbidos. Also, worthy to mention is D. João de Noronha tomb considered a masterpiece from the Portuguese Renaissance.

With the original name of Royal College of the Overseas Missions, was built by Dom João VI in 1794. Emphasis on the tiles, depicting scenes of colonial evangelism, as well as for its imposing library with approximately 7,300 works. In the Church of the seminary, deserves special attention the high altar of style hispano-Arabic and the magnificent 18TH century bellows organ, and several paintings of the painter Bento Coelho da Silveira. The seminar also explores the agricultural strand through a large production of wine, marketed under the brand name "lands of d. Nuno".

Considered the largest archaeological crypt in the country, it is located beneath the Castle of Alcácer do Sal, now transformed into the Pousada D. Afonso II. It presents traces of the Iron Age dating from the 6th century BC, as well as structures from the Roman period and the Islamic occupation, covering a considerable area. Medieval walls from the post-Reconquista Christian era were also found, based partially on Roman walls which, in turn, overlap older pre-existing structures dating from the Iron Age.
