The bases of the defensive system were built between the 8th and 13th centuries, during Muslim rule. The primitive Moorish fortification later underwent improvement works after the Christian Reconquest, ordered by King Dom Dinis. Currently, you can still see some parts of the wall, the Arco da Misericórdia and a part of the Alcáçova that maintains its medieval characteristics. Inside the walls, the beautiful garden stands out.

This Gothic building has undergone several modifications over time and, therefore, has Romanesque, Gothic, Manueline, Mannerist, Renaissance, Baroque and modern features. On the main façade are visible images of Saint Mark, Saint Luke, Saint John, Saint Matthew, Saint Teotónio and Nossa Senhora da Assunção. Highlight for the choir stalls, the 18th century gilded carvings, the 16th and 18th century cloister and the tomb chapels.

The dam consists of a plant with rectilinear wall 3 meters high and a thickness of the same dimension, with buttresses. Although initially have about 50 metres long, currently retains only a section of the dam about 40 meters long and 6 buttresses. About 100 metres downstream, the archaeologist Estácio da Veiga excavated a set of graves, a village and a possible Temple. Are classified as Property in the public interest.

The chapel of Vilarinho da Mó, dedicated to Saint Mamede, is a granite building East\/West oriented, deployed on the highest of the village, within a walled courtyard where you will find the old cemetery. The main façade has a rectangular portal and in the elongation of the gable, a Bell Tower surmounted by a cross. Inside this Chapel stands the high altar, in gilt, which occupies the central part of the wall of the headboard, and imaginary religious houses.

Em Grândola são feitas cadeiras, na cor natural da madeira, que pode ser: pinho, amieiro ou choupo. Têm grande perfeição de empalhamento, sendo utilizados a tábua ou buinho, plantas herbáceas que nascem em Portugal de forma espontânea. Em Grândola, na Zona do Alentejo, são feitas cadeiras de forma idêntica.

Foi em 1964 que o senhor Francisco Rosado, mais conhecido por Xico Tarefa, se iniciou a sua aprendizagem, com apenas 13 anos. Hoje tem o seu próprio negócio e dedica-se à reprodução e recriação da louça do Redondo, como, por exemplo, chocolateiras, pratos, saladeiras, alguidares, barris, tachos ou frigideiras.

A filigrana é a arte portuguesa de trabalhar o fio de ouro ou de prata. Esta casa de tradição familiar de há três gerações já ganhou o prémio de Mérito Turístico 2005 da Póvoa de Lanhoso e prémio de Melhor Peça de Artesanato Tradicional 2005, na Feira Internacional de Lisboa.

Inaugurated in 1985, with a permanent exhibition of works of contemporary Portuguese art, namely painting, drawing and engraving. In addition to housing the work of Abel Manta, it also includes works by Paula Rego, Júlio Resende, Vieira da Silva, Joaquim Rodrigo, Júlio Pomar, Menéz Lagoa, among others. It comprises seven permanent exhibition halls, a temporary exhibition hall, an arts library, an arts workshop and a small shop.
