The set of the Citadel of Cascais includes the Forte de Nossa Senhora da Luz, the Torre de Santo António de Cascais and fortified everywhere between the tip of the Salmodo and Clube Naval de Cascais. Had the Defense function of this part of the coast, access point to the capital. Currently, it is here the summer residence of the President of the Republic, the Municipal Museum of Cascais, the Anti-aircraft Artillery instruction Center and the coast and the Naval Radio of Cascais.

Convent built by D. Lourenço Pires de Távora in 1558. It has a façade surrounded by corners topped off in the acroteria by flames and an interior porch with three arches. The large window of the choir is topped by a niche with a clay sculpture. In the galilee, tile panels stand out. Located in the area of the Protected Landscape of Arriba Fóssil da Costa de Caparica, from there you can contemplate the landscape of the coast of Lisbon, Estoril and Cascais.

Built in the 13th century to house the mendicant order of San Francisco, it underwent several renovations in the following centuries, with the Mannerist façade dating back to 1635. In the second half of the 19th century, in the convent area, it was built the Military Hospital and, later, the Duke of Bragança Asylum. Among the various 18th century altarpieces it has, the one in the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Conceição stands out, in which some rocaille applications are notorious.

Bust of homage to Conselheiro José Dias Ferreira (1837-1907), professor of law, politician, Member of Parliament, Minister and President of the Council of Ministers (ruled for 404 days, during the reign of d. Carlos). José Dias Ferreira created the Constituent Party and he was a Deputy during 25 legislatures. Born in new village, in the parish of Pombeiro da Beira in November 30, 1837 and died in Vidago the September 8, 1907.

With a great architectonical simplicity, the Almas chapel dates from the beginning of the XVIII, and was repaired and enlarged in 1801. In 1929, the façades were covered with azulejos, by Eduardo Leite, representing the life of São Francisco de Assis and of Santa Catarina. The main façade presents a glass window by the painter Amândio Silva. Inside, the panel painted by Joaquim Rafael, representing the Lord’s Ascension and the image of Nossa Senhora das Almas stand out.

A cachola é um prato feito a partir das miudezas do porco, muito conhecido em terras alentejanas. É um ingrediente que também pode ser utilizado na preparação de sopas. Dá também origem à "cacholeira", um famoso enchido, semelhante à morcela, mas com uma cor mais clara devido à utilização de fígado do porco.

Em Chaves é recheado com carne de porco e de vitela, presunto, salpicão, linguiça, entre outros ingredientes possíveis.

Devido à proximidade do mar, a gastronomia de Peniche sempre viveu do peixe como o seu principal ingrediente, pelo que o cardápio desta região é naturalmente constituído por deliciosos pratos do melhor peixe e marisco. Das diversas especialidades destaca-se a "Lagosta Suada à Moda de Peniche", um dos ilustres pratos desta região.

São usados entre os chifres para proteção do gado bovino. Assemelham-se a uma espécie de jugos, de grande simplicidade, que assentam em almofadas de palha de centeio, sendo revestidos a couro. Têm franja de lã para proteger os olhos dos animais. Estes curiosos enfeites de couro são típicos da região minhota.
