The ancient fort stood on the current Palace of the Dukes of Palmela. Currently, it remains only a parapet, dating from the 19th century.

This flagstone is from the Bronze Age and it is included in an archaeological site. The cave paintings are mainly characterized by the representation of geometric and zoomorphic figures.

The Largo dos Paços do Concelho (18TH-19th century) is where the City Hall building (dating from 1745).
