Village integrated into the Alvão Natural Park, located close to the Olo River. This village, which seems to have remained indifferent to the changes that time brings, retains its beautiful rural houses, made of granite and with slate roofs. King Sancho I granted it a charter in 1196 and it was the county seat from 1514 until the 19th century. From this height, the pillory and the old Town Hall still survive.
