A building located in the city center, with neoclassical features. The facade is covered in beautiful yellow tiles, except for the entrance which is rusticated with columns. There are two arbors attached to the property wall. Inside the building, there are two symmetrical ponds, from which a fountain flows. The building has similar floors, marked by enormous windows framed in granite, whose upper line follows the triangular pediment that, in line with the roofs, marks the main entrance and finishes off the balustrade.

According to legend, it was the birthplace of Viriato, the famous Portuguese leader. It is also the birthplace of Aristides Sousa Mendes, the Portuguese consul in Bordeaux, who saved thousands of Jews during World War II. Remains of importante houses can be seen here. Also, noteworthy are the main church, the chapel of Our Lady of Amparo, Christ the King, the Great Hall of the Theater, the halls of the Philharmonic Society, and the House of Aristides Sousa Mendes. Wrought iron and woodcarvings constitute the region's craftsmanship.

A village situated in a scenic area, it boasts rustic granite houses scattered along irregular, winding streets. The population is dedicated to subsistence farming, which is predominant in the area. Cattle, chestnuts, and other agricultural products are the main source of local income. Located on a granite outcrop in the Aguiar Valley, there is a rock castle dating back to the 9th century. Castelo Branco

Classified as a national monument, it is one of the ex-libris of the city and one of the most original examples of the Baroque style in Portugal, having been built at the behest of D. João de Mendonça, Bishop of Guarda, around 1720. It features five lakes on the main slope, where the water features stand out, while the intermediate one has the Lago das Coroas and the Stairs of the Apostles and Kings, where all the Portuguese monarchs are represented. On the upper deck is the Staircase of Moses.

This Convent assembles a set of buildings of extreme beauty. Although it is a construction from the XV century it is yet what it was built for 500 years ago: a convent of Franciscan nuns. The main chapel of the Nossa Senhora da Conceição church owns a magnificent silver sacrarium. It also has a large glazed tiles carpet from the XVIII century, representing the famous Santa Clara stone monument and, at the entrance, an important gothic tomb from the end of the XV century.

Vila Nova de Foz Côa

Built in the 18th century, this house is considered one of the finest examples of Baroque civil architecture. Constructed of granite, it features Rococo decoration concentrated in the windows and main door. This construction demonstrates elements of Douro Baroque architecture, influenced by Nicolau Nasoni. In the early 19th century, Napoleonic troops were stationed here, later setting fire to the building in 1810 before withdrawing. From 1895 onwards, it underwent partial reconstruction, initiated by the 3rd Viscount of Banho.

Deployed in the middle of the village of Codessoso the chapel dedicated to our Lady of Guadalupe is a simple plant building, North\/South-oriented. The main façade has a rectangular cover, with the lintel stone bearing the name: "CAVSA NOSTRA _ GOVERNMENT RTITIAE 1688", next to which is a granite pulpit, circular format. Inside stands the high altar, in richly decorated gilded, which houses religious imaginary. It is in this chapel that annually celebrated the mass of the feast of our Lady of Guadalupe.

Set overlooking Agrelos Chapel, dedicated to Saint Mamede, is a temple in granite, rectangular plant oriented east-northeast (ENE)\/WSW at 10-Southwest (OSO). The main façade has a rectangular gate protected by a porch that connects the chapel a wall facing that sustains the Bell Tower. Inside stands the high altar in polychrome and gilded carvings, with religious imaginary. This is the chapel which is celebrated the mass of the feast in honour of s. Mamede, which is held annually in the month of August.
