Located on a limestone elevation, this castle has a keep dating from the time of Dom Dinis, which stands out for its volume. It was after the reconquest from the Moors that King Dinis had the castle completely remodeled, which had housed the Moors for 400 years. Later, King João I ordered the fortress to be expanded, but the War of Succession and the 1755 earthquake contributed to its state of ruin. The chapel in the village of Sapelos, dedicated to Santo Amaro, is a temple in granite, rectangular plant oriented Northeast\/Southwest. The main façade has a round arch portal surmounted by a telescope, the gable ends with a cross. Inside the Chapel, the floor, once paved with granite graves tops still boasts the separation guides. The chapel of Romaínho, built on a rocky outcrop at the entrance to the village, is dedicated to St. Joseph. It is a granite building, of rectangular plan, oriented Southeast\/Northwest, with a porch supported by columns. The main façade has a rectangular portal, with frame in relief, flanked by rectangular Windows, also with frame in relief. The lintel of the door contains inscriptions: "MARIA IOSEPH IESVS\/SAVE TIESVM LENEDITVM\/REGINAE ERVCTVM ... NOBIS POIoICEXI IVMOS ENDE ". Pequena e pitoresca capela de planta retangular, alçados em cantaria de granito e alpendre aberto apoiado em quatro colunas de decoração dórica.
