The Porto’s Misericórdia Church is from the XV century and its front is by Nicolau Nasoni. It suffered profound changes during the XVIII century. The rococo style is quite obvious on its decorations. Inside, the main chapel, which is from the primitive construction, deserves a careful look. At the Mesários room, a masterpiece of the gothic painting stands out.

25 square April 28 is populated by Orange and the construction site of wheat, elements that evoke the idea of the productivity of the land. The monument itself appears in the flower bed of wheat, where recorded six decomposed images of photography which serves as a theme. The water comes out of the monument by a marble fountain carving, conducted throughout the piece.

Restaurant with more than twenty years of experience, to offer a rustic and cosy décor where equestrian, and objects stand out good dishes from traditional Portuguese cuisine. Originally, it was a place where if they served only appetizers, to the sound of fado. Currently, features three rooms, featuring one of them a more intimate environment.

In this restaurant, also a cafe on the lower floor, one may enjoy th excellent fresh fish of the island. At the entrance, it is possible to choose the fish that will then be served grilled, boiled or fried according to one's taste. The dining rooms, with wooden ceilings, and the familiar service also stand out. A special note to the "Terras de Lava" wine.

The Carnival is one of the region's main attractions. The celebrations include a parade of four parts, two in each of the towns, Nelas and Canas de Senhorim. The Carnival apoeals to the public's participation, as well as of local groups.

At Moinho Novo, where the path begins, one can have a brief explanation of the dunes dynamics and of the lagoon systems in the region. The pedestrian walk is about 2.5 km long and lasts two hours.

The District Archives of Guarda are located in the Convent of Saint Francis. They preserve the social, economic and cultural history of the Guarda region. They have a reading room that can welcom up to 10 researchers and a specialized library.
