Sanctuary in honor of Saint Benedict, from where you can enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the entire Serra do Gerês mountain range. The chancel and altar are dedicated to this saint, a cult that dates back to the mid-18th century. The sanctuary hosts the main pilgrimage from August 10 to 15, and other festivities on March 21 and July 11.

When you enter in Leiria you can’t avoid noticing the castle that, from the top, seems to welcome those coming into the city. Conquered to the Moors in 1135, by D. Afonso Henriques, the castle passed, for many years, from hand to hand between Moors and Christians. In 1190, D. Sancho I ordered its reconstruction. Later in 1325 D. Dinis orders the construction of the Torre de Menagem that, nowadays, shelters a museological nucleus, where you will get to know the castle activity in past times. It was also by D. A very pleasant area for strolling, starting with the garden next to the bridge. Continue your walk past its floating pier and the waterfront, enjoying the magnificent views. The Romanesque bridge, with its twenty arches, deserves special attention. If you choose to cross this bridge, on the other side you'll find a pleasant leisure area with a playground, mini-golf, a tennis court, and a restaurant.

To learn a little of Amarante, start your walk along the bridge, in the city centre. This bridge, classified as a national monument, worth a visit to admire its Baroque details and to enjoy the beautiful view over the Tâmega River. Continue your spent by the banks of the River, passing by several gardens that the city offers. Finally, pass the historical centre streets, admiring its old houses.

Pedestrian path of small route with about 10.5 kilometers, beginning and end near the Chiesa Madre (mother church) of Salvaterra do Extremo. Through small rural roads, passes through ancient water mills, various sources and some watercourses. Emphasis on the area near the old post of guarda-fiscal, where there is a Bird Observatory where it is possible to view Gryphons (vultures).

This trail begins and ends near the chapel of Santo António, being effected through a descent way of standing desk, great part in ancient stone staircase. Along the descent we enjoy a magnificent view over the Fajã de Besides, Fajã do Ouvidor, Fajã da Ribeira da Areia and in days of good visibility over the Islands Third and graceful.

Small circular route that begins and ends in front of the Church of Calheta do Nesquim. This location has a great whaling tradition and a small bathing area. The route begins at Portinho da Feiteira and passes by the Acute Stone, the highest altitude and location that offers stunning views of the parish of Calheta and the entire East side of the island. The end is near Mourricão mill, passing by the Church.

A typical village on the right bank of the Távora river, with traditional houses and granite cobblestone streets. A special note to the romanesque church, restored in the 16th century, a romanesque fountain, the House of Paço, with a gothic portal, the Fountain of Mergulho, with a granite barrel vault and the Place of the Toca da Moura (The Moor Woman's Lair), a natural shelter. It has astounding views of the village and of the dam from a belvedere.

In this traditional village of the Lands of Barroso, one can still view typical cul covered houses. A special note to the church and the ruins of the beneditin convent of Saint Maria, a national monument, whose existence may date back to the 9th century and still has the romanesque portico of the old church by the convent. Near Pitões das Júnias there is a natural waterfall of rare beauty.
