The level of grass are the Pyrenean Oaks and Oak, the Phoenicean Juniper or Pine, Holly, Genista, Heather and Gorse. The Pyrenean Oak is the dominant species, since it adapts easily to mountain slopes, enduring the cold and the snow so characteristic of winters Barrosões.

Located on a detour from the EM567, which connects the towns of Torre do Pinhão and Barrela, the Senhor dos Aflitos Viewpoint offers spectacular views over the pristine mountains of the region, dotted with trees and granite blocks, and over the Serra do Alvão, bwing a mandatory stop on a Sunday afternoon walk through the area.
