Segundo dados históricos, a origem das queijadas de Sintra remonta ao século XIII, durante o reinado de D. Sancho II, sendo um meio de pagamento de foros. O local exato terá sido Ranholas, na freguesia de São Pedro de Penaferrim. Com o desenvolvimento do caminho-de-ferro a sua confeção deixou de se concentrar nesta localidade, passando também a ser comercializadas em Lisboa, que ajudou na sua industrialização, pelas mãos de uma senhora chamada Maria Sapa, em meados do século XVIII.

Museu com cerca de 6000 brinquedos, expostos em sete salas: Brinquedos Portugueses; Miniaturas Automóveis, Camiões e outros veículos; Star Wars, Action Man e outras peças de colecção; Super Heróis e Micro Machines; Sala de Jogos com um carácter mais didático. Por último e, em fase de montagem, a Sala das Bonecas. O acervo conta com peças oriundas de Portugal, Inglaterra, Alemanha e França. A colecção de Brinquedos ocupa agora todo o segundo andar do Edifício datado do séc. XVIII.
