Monument of religious and hospital type. The Church consists of nave, chancel and vestry. The façade is preceded by a flight of stairs circular. Today, the part corresponding to the hospital is occupied by administrative offices.

The typical crockery of the municipality of Lagoa originally comes from Vila Nova de Gaia and was introduced to the islands in 1862 by Bernardino da Silva.
