Located next to Consolação beach, it was built in the mid-17th century to reinforce the defenses of Peniche Bay. It features four triangular bastions and five platforms housing the fire hydrants, with access to the interior via a bridge. Over the years, and especially after the 1755 earthquake, it underwent renovations but has always maintained its original Mannerist structure.

Building where stands out the decorative stonework, masonry tile and padded double frame mantel. The main door is articulated with window of verga in arch and apron with ornate relief, ripping between pilasters with bases and capitals in stonework, topped off, above the cornice, by stone urns. Building covered with tile panels from the Fonte Nova Factory (1916), which reproduce information on the main monuments of the region and the country. It dates back to the 19th century and, despite its modernist style, follows the typology of the so-called "Portuguese House".

The Romanesque church of the monastery of Pombeiro was one of the few in Portugal to obey the plan of three naves, which reveals the importance of this House in the medieval context of the country. Over time, Pombeiro became head of the land of Shah, arriving to take under its patronage 37 parishes. This Romanesque period only the two absidíolos and the main portal, four archivolts.

A single-nave church preceded by a large galilee with a Mudejar-style finish, built in 1463 by the Duke of Beja (Infante D. Ferdinand) for the Xabregano friars. It was rebuilt during the reign of King Manuel. Notable are the recessed, coffered vaults of the galilee, chancel, cloister, and chapter house. Also note the unusual layout of the small cloister and the 17th-century tiles.
