The Sorraia River is one of the main tributaries of the Tagus and results from the junction of two streams, the Sor stream and the Raia stream. Almost at the mouth, it receives the river Almansor, increasing its flow and finally entering the Tagus.

Near Foz de Alge (Alge river) are the Fragas or Penhas de São Simão. In addition to the beautiful landscape that surrounds it, you can see, from here, the ruins of blacksmiths, dating back to the 18th century.

Located in Ribeira da Lombega, this is one of the three existing lava tubes on the island, featuring 36 meters long and 4 meters high. Its name comes from the fact that there are ring-shaped stalactites in caves.

Also known as islet of the Fugitive, resulting from the erosion of ancient volcanoes. Located off the tip of the Carapacho, consists of two islets and coastal line, features a thermal water source. Is classified as a Special Protection zone.

A small lagoon, surrounded by a calm, pleasant scenery, ideal for strolling and for picnics. Its shallow waters are a result of the amounting of the rain water and the water that fliws down from the Picos Gordos (Fat Peaks) and the surrounding fields.

River Beach located on the banks of the Castelo de Bode Reservoir, 12 km from Vila de Rei, with an artificial platform to form a pool and a beach with good condition. Is an excellent starting point for nautical activities.

A quite unique place, xcellent for relaxing. Besides the sand, it has a wide lawn where one can practise sports. The Lima river's shoreline and the lush veegetation invite for a walk from the sand to the Corro Square.

A truly beautiful wide stretch of sand that can be acceded only by boat, from Olhão. Quite attended by divers, it has white sands and crystal clear waters. There are quality restaurants that serve a wide variety of shellfish.

Large beach, with the largest sand in the Azores and, for this reason, also known as Praia Grande. It extends from Ponta do Cabo da Praia to the Reviera viewpoint. It has several infrastructures, such as bars, restaurants and sanitary facilities.

Composed of two beaches (of the fortress and of the Path of the monastery) boasts crystal clear waters, coral reefs, sea caves and the Fort of São João Baptista, must-see. Is not monitored and is only accessible by boat from Peniche.
