Lookout point located on top of the Hill of Papalva, name arising from a small bird almost extinct. Offers fantastic views of the Bay of Lajes do Pico. This is where, formerly, one could observe the hunting of whales.

Viewpoint with views over the sand and bay of Praia da Vitória, as well as its port and marina. Its name comes from the fact that, originally, a bonfire was kept at this point, lit every night, as a navigation warning light.

This spot offers a beautiful view of the chapels and the castle, with the São João stream winding its way from the mountains, forming a river pool. The entire mountain range and the mountain villages of Casal Novo and Talasnal are also visible.

This area is characterized by the existence of many agricultural farms whose lands where afterwards used for construction. The Parque Urbano do Vale do Fundão was born from the improvement of the surrounding areas. It has many trees and is calm.

Located in the Serra de São Mamede Natural Park, the medieval-style village encompasses an urban agglomeration with around 150 houses, most dating from the 14th to the 16th century, which line the long, narrow streets.

Proto-history village consisting of two fortified walls enclosures of different dimensions. The larger presents an outline elliptical and the smallest is northeast of the first. Were found at the site several fragments of common pottery from the iron age.

The hazard of this monument, dated from 1934, is due to a corporative administration’s politics. When the Portuguese administration was colonizing territories, especially those in Africa, exhibitions were made and, through them, decorative elements were created – this is an example.

It belonged to the Franciscan until 1526 and to the Santo Agostinho Eremites until 1834. In the end of the XVII century and beginning of the XVIII century the convent was rebuilt. From the original plan only stands the Manueline granite portal of the main façade.

This Carmelite convent, with cloister, chapel and observation tower, has existed since 1730. Throughout its history, the building has had various functions, but from 1993 onwards it became one of the centers of Lagoa's cultural activity.

Small circular Temple which is believed to have its origin in a mill, which annexed a ship which was later transformed into altar. The pulpit and the stone sink, from the 17th century, and to the work of sculpture decorated with foliage and flowers.
