Located by the Vouga river, in the heart of Lafões, it is the parishe's siege and rceived its charter from Dom Manuel I in 1514. Its historical centre's traditional architecture is quite harmonious. Its has remarkable civil and religious monuments, namely: the mother hurch (a romanesque-gothic temple, classed as a National Monument), the bridge on the Zela river, the chapel of Saint Frei Gil, the houses of the Távoras and Teles, the Forca Pillory, the old prison and town hall, the church of Misericórdia and the Railway Bridge.

Located near the Douro river, the origins of this village that recived its first charter in 1202 precede the romans. Its name may come from the almonds, being that the almond tree fields are one of the region's main attractions. It has some valuable monuments, namely the mother church, romanesque with 16th century interiors, the 16th century pillory and the manor of the Viscounts of Banho. A visit to the ruins of Calábria, an old village founded between the 3rd and 2nd centuries bC, is also quite worthwhile.

A very old village located on the foothills of the Serra da Estrela, it has a section of Roman road. The main church, known as the Catedral das Beiras, stands out. This is the former home of writer José Maria Ferreira de Castro (1898-1974), author of books such as "A Selva", which describes the drama of emigrants and the exoticism of the Amazon jungle, and "Volta ao Mundo", a description of his almost two-year journey shortly before the Second World War. This building, dating from the mid-19th century, is now a museum that brings together the writer's books, manuscripts and personal objects, including the shoes and suitcase that accompanied him on this trip around the world.

Museum with the theme of the Minho River, from its source to its mouth. The set of aquariums is arranged in such a way as to allow a journey along the entire river, starting in Lugo, (Spain) and ending at the mouth, in Caminha. Along the route, visitors get to know the most representative species of the river, such as trout, mullet or lamprey. In addition to the approximately four dozen fish in the aquariums, a couple of otters live in the outer space. In addition to tourist purposes, this museum also intends to have a pedagogical and research role.
