The church consists of three naves, a chancel, a sacristy, and an archive. The façade features a full-arch portico with Manueline decoration (flanked by two national coats of arms), armillary spheres, a fleur-de-lis, and a cross of Christ. It is topped by a bell tower with three windows and four Renaissance busts. Inside the church, the Baroque altars, the coffered ceiling of the chancel, the statuary, and the inclination of the columns are noteworthy.

The church was built in the 16th century and later expanded and restored in the 18th century. This reconstruction was necessary due to the devastation caused by the earthquake known as Mandado de Deus (Mandate of God). The majestic façade features a portal, three large windows, and two oculus windows, not to mention the bell tower, atypical for the island's architecture. Inside, the gilded carvings and numerous paintings stand out.

Religious architecture from the 16th century located in plaza Largo de Chafariz, surrounded by necropolis and composed by a nave, main chapel and bell tower. On the interior it can be appreciated some murals behind the altar, even though its conservation state is daily affected by the humidity. The saint is São Miguel but the inhabitants from this region are particularly devoted to Our Lady of Ajuda (Help).

Located in the parishes of Querença and Tôr, the classified site of Fonte Benémola is an area of great beauty, where the Ribeira de Menalva (supplied by some springs) provides habitat for a flora dominated by ash trees, willows, tamarisks and leafy trees. The existence of water throughout the year is an attraction factor for a great diversity of faunal species, namely kingfishers, tits, herons, bee-eaters and otters.

The Church of San Isidoro is one of the most interesting and best preserved testimonies to Romanesque of the current municipality of Marco de Canaveses. This church, together with that of Tabuado, standardizes the Romanesque Lower Tâmega, both in the Organization of space as in the arrangement of the elevations, in the typology of openings and in like rank in rosettes. This church conserves one of the most interesting murals produced in Portugal in the first half of the 16th century.

Built on the occasion of the Portuguese World Exhibition, the ostentatious Padrão, a work by Leopoldo de Almeida, rests on a compass rose and its design in the form of a caravel is imaginative. Inside the monument, an elevator goes up to the sixth floor, where you have access to a terrace from which you can get a fantastic panorama of the Tagus River and Belém. A fort also known as Fortress of Cacela, it stands in a dominant position by the mouth of the Formosa river bank. The primitive fortification was a Moorish castle that preceded the reconquest of the Iberian Peninsula. During the 16th century, already in ruins, it was rebuilt by orders of Dom João III or Dom Sebastião. After the earthquake of 1755, it was rebuilt again by Dom Francisco de Noronha and the works were finished in 1794.

Inaugurado em 1915, passou por várias vicissitudes até ser instalado em definitivo no antigo Palácio Arquiepiscopal (finais do século XVI e princípios do século XVII). Sofreu uma profunda remodelação em 1940, tendo-se valorizado as secções de Arqueologia, Arquitetura, Escultura, Epigrafia, Heráldica, Ourivesaria, Artes Decorativas e Pintura.

This campsite, inserted in the Youth Hostel in Mira, has the privilege of being in a natural area, surrounded by pine forests and beaches. Is both a campsite and accommodation unit, that allows to develop a series of activities in their vicinity, like canoeing, hiking or MOUNTAIN BIKING routes through the surrounding forest trails. The praia de Mira is another of the attractions, the ideal place for sunbathing and swimming in the Atlantic waters.

Everything to offer you pleasant moments in direct contact with nature. Alternatively you can take a trip to Alvito and visit the Castle, the Rossio Caves or even the Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora da Assunção.
