Prior to this there was another Church, medieval, of which nothing remains. The Church, as is known today, was being gradually rebuilt and reformed, mainly, in the mannerist period, when they were created several volumes. Inside, the highlights are several: the nave of five bays with wood coverage, the baptistery, the wooden pulpit and the altarpieces of gilt national style.

Housed in an old fish warehouse, the Afurada Heritage Interpretive Center is a space designed to enhance the collective memory of this fishing community. Through permanent and temporary exhibitions related to the village's traditions, such as fishing tools or traditional costumes, it allows visitors to get to know the daily life and culture of this community.

Historic Inn with 35 rooms and six suites, totally equipped. Inserted into the convent of the Chapels of St. Augustine, founded by Dom Sebastião, provides a warm atmosphere and a gastronomy with strong maritime pendant. According to tradition, this was the birthplace of the king Dom Duarte. In the granite building, a manuelin window topped by a coat of arms stands out.
