Walls of the Templar Castle dated from the Xii century. During Dom Dinis reign, in the XIV century, it suffered some changes.

Building with a simple plan, restored many times and showing no clear evidence of its construction period that probably agrees with the Christ Order. A cross and an armillary sphere stand out.

Built, probably, in the XII century, it was rebuilt in the XIII century by the Templar, and suffered later various acts of vandalism, being reduced to ruins. It suffered successive interventions and is now a work mainly from the XIX century.

This project of the architect Cristino da Silva is a fine specimen of the released State architecture with modernist influences. The façade is characteristic of the Estado Novo architecture dating, its construction, from the year 1942.

Opened in 1969, it presents the Estado Novo architecture.
