Grandfather's House is located in the village of casal Novo, in the municipality of Arganil, in the middle of the Serra do Açor. Here you will find absolute silence, quietness and privacy, in an environment surrounded by the magnificent landscapes that the Rocks of Fajão and the river Ceira offer. The House consists of four pleasant rooms.

With an area of ​​approximately 6200 square meters, the Famões Botanical Garden houses more than 6000 plants, representing about 50 native species characteristic of the Lisbon region. Within the garden, one can find an open-air auditorium illuminated by solar-powered lamps.

In this garden we come upon a lake feeding a brook that falls over the copse in cascade. Here you will find various species such as cedars, sequoias, camellias and secular palm-trees. We highlight the Casa do Cisne (Swan House) right in front of a lake with a fountain.

This pedagogical farm aims to show to the public, especially the younger ones, the daily life of rural life of Minho. Here we can find various animals, an educational Garden, a greenhouse nurseries, orchards, a field of aromatic and medicinal herbs and has a campsite, a hostel and outdoor pools.

This cave was discovered by chance in 1961 during mining operations. Several tools from the Mousterian industry and stone artifacts from the Upper Paleolithic and Neolithic periods were found here. However, its most important find is a Neanderthal tooth, approximately 30,000 years old.

Wide beach with thin sands, surrounded by dunes, woods, mountains and marshes. Here we find excellent conditions for surfing, windsurfing, bodyboarding and sailing. Very popular, there are plenty of shops, hotels, campsites and restaurants nearby. There is a lot of nightlife, spread across the numerous beach concessionaires.

The train from Barril beach is a tourist railroad that connects the cais da Pedras D'El Rei to Praia do Barril, Tavira island. Is about one kilometre long and the journey lasts about eight minutes. The line was built with the initial goal to serve the former tuna fishing frame located on Praia do Barril.

This environmental interpretation centre is coordinated by the Portuguese society for the study of birds, along with the Regional Secretariat of the environment and the sea and the Regional Direction of forest resources. Its main objective is to preserve their habitat: the Laurissilva forest. The name of the Centre-Priolo-is a reference to the second most endangered bird in Europe, existing only to the East of the island of São Miguel.
