This is one of the most beautiful gardens on the Madeira Island, located about 5 km from the city center of Funchal. It occupies an area of 70000 m2 and is reforested with exotic plants from several continents. You can see cycads and proteas from South Africa, heather from Scotland, or redwoods from America. The vegetation mixes with ponds full of Koi fish, providing a spectacle of beauty and color. The alleys of the Garden are full of tile panels from the 16th and 20th centuries. Also, noteworthy are the terracotta panels and the 40 panels on the Portugal History.

This trail starts near the access to the Serra Branca Wind Farm, ending then in Praia. It crosses Graciosa Island from the west coast to the east coast, passing Pico das Caldeirinhas, the highest of the Serra Branca volcanic cones, measuring around 360 meters.

The construction of this bridge dates from 1913, with the goal of establishing communication between the parishes of Salvador and de Santo Aleixo de Além-Tâmega. This House belongs to the family of the poet Teixeira de Pascoaes, dating from the 16th century, and is surrounded by a thicket of chestnut trees. From here the view is stunning and will do Marão to Gerês.
