This lovely house is situated in the middle of the protected area and surrounding the Peneda-Gerês National Park, one of the 7 natural wonders of Portugal, on the left bank of the river Cávado Caniçada-Albufeira. Both the House and the outside you can enjoy the wonderful views over the Serra do Gerês, Caniçada reservoir, the shrine of St. Benedict the open door and the Rio Caldo-Geres bridges.

Chapel situated on a small elevation, in the old Rossio das Hortas, surrounded by houses on both sides and with a front patio. Ancient records do repackage its existence to the year 1536. This granite gate, located on a wall, has a tile panel on one of the sides where one can read its name and a reference to Dom Afonso V and to its elevation to Namtional Monument. At the medieval time, when there were seven gates, it was meant to serve as a defense of the city. Currently, there are only two gates left: the Soar or Arco dos Malos Gate and the Cavaleiros Gate.
