Noudar Natural Park, part of the Natura 2000 network, is located about seven kilometers northeast of Barrancos. The area is not located on the banks of the Alqueva River, but rather within what is considered the reservoir's area of ​​influence.

The park, with 18 hectares, is divided into art and nature. Organized in platforms, lanes, gardens, groves and tilled grounds, it is part of a 30ies’ house, which belonged to the Conde de Vizela (earl). The gardens are Art Deco.

At the Parque da Lapa (Lapa Park) there are many different tree species, some quite aged, namely the Cedrus Deodara and the Cedrus Libani. Well located in the centre of town, by the Chapel of Lapa, with very comfortable benches.

A green space where you can observe various species of flora and fauna, including fallow deer and wild boar, as well as some windmills. There are also park benches and drinking fountains for resting and cooling off.

This park boasts abundant shrub and tree vegetation, including chestnut trees, willows, cedars, cryptomeria, and araucaria. A network of paths traverses some of the sanctuary's stairway levels. It also features small lakes, fountains, and grottoes.

This park stretches for about 1.5 kilometers, following the course of the Fresno River. It's a recreational area with pedestrian trails along the banks and a pier with support equipment. Along the river, you'll see restored mills, fountains, and watermills.

A park with abundant vegetation, a bandstand, and an ice cream stand. Inside, a small waterfall built of Escusa stone and adorned with a copy of the Brussels "Manneken Pis" statuette stands out. The garden also has a children's playground.

Green space surrounded by large trees, with wooden tables and benches, trash containers, a spout of water and a BBQ area. The park lies along the River, the location is quite nice delighting all visitors with a magnificent landscape.

Several aquatic amusement park, opened in 1994, only in the North of the country. With a maximum capacity of 1200 people, offering privileged views over the river Tâmega. The amusement equipment available are the following: swimming pool for adults, children's pool, snail, Bobsleigh track, Aqualândia, multiple lanes and fast lanes. There is also a bar, a shop and an infirmary.

The Maia Zoo was created in 1985 and aims to be a center for research, preservation, and dissemination of information about species, especially among schools. This space has its own clinic and qualified staff, housing more than 300 animals. Within this area are the Picnic Park, the Maia Seal Pavilion, the Mysterious Nature exhibit, the Reptile Garden, and the Children's Playground.
