In the Castromil Gold Mines, there is a gold deposit whose archaeological evidence testifies that, at least 2000 years ago, the Roman people developed gold mining activities in this location. Numerous ancient underground works can be observed here, as well as concavities in the side walls for placing lighting lamps.

The serra integrates the Forestall park of Monsanto, with an area of 50 ha. It stretches from the Monsanto Serra, from the Alto da Serafina to the Mata de São Domingos de Benfica, going through the Marqueses de Fronteira farm and the Campo de Tiro a Chumbo. The park has varied trees with species introduced here as a necessity to reforest the serra and that gave origin to interesting ecosystems. This tour begins in the Luís de Camões Garden, where you can find a Tourism Office. Cross the 5 de Outubro Street and enter the Rodrigues Lobo Square. This is the centre of the city, the ideal place to relax under the cinquentist arcades animated by pleasant esplanades. In one of the corners, the statue of the poet Rodrigues Lobo (1579-1621) points out the right direction. Follow through the Miguel Bombarda Street and notice the Misericórdia Church, built on an ancient synagogue. It is one of the most characteristic quarters of the town, filled with history and tradition. It was the subject of a recuperation plan, due to the serious fire of 1988. The Portuguese traditional commerce prevails here, with big shops, prêt-a-porter and accessories shops, haberdasher's shops, shoemaker's, goldsmith's , workmanship, decoration and other sort of commerce.

Also known as Fajã de Vicente Days, this fajã has a number of very high permanent inhabitants. Since many fishermen here have always existed, and there is even a fishing harbour, at the tip of Vicente Days. Access, unlike most of the fajãs, is very good, being the asphalted path.

The pillory, an 18th century house with coats of arms, a unique house known as "Sinagogue" that reflects the importance of the Jewish colony that onc eexisted here, stand out in this village. A special note to the belvdere, the water mill and the river beach as well. The domens of Queiriga and Pendilhe and the Necropolis of Almoxene are located nearby.

A lookout point at Cabo Carvoeiro, known as the westernmost point in Europe. From here, you can enjoy a privileged view of the Berlengas Islands and visit the 25-meter-high lighthouse, considered the oldest in Portugal. Old building of the Town Hall, built in 1680, of rectangular plan with three and a floor. Presents a simple rectangular plan, matching the interior with the exterior, and a penthouse on roof of four waters. Between 1972 and 1973 underwent restoration works, being then here installed the Junta de Freguesia and a country club.
