Viewpoint located at the highest point of the Madeiran archipelago, at 1861 meters above sea level, and the 3rd highest in Portugal. Being a very rocky environment, flora species such as ferns, mosses and lichens persist, while the fauna that can be seen includes the Blackbird, the Madeira Chaffinch, the Madeiracrest, the Common Linnet and the Red-legged Partridge. The peak is accessible by road from Santana, or by a pedestrian route that starts from Pico do Arieiro. During the summer months, there is an inn that operates just below the mountain's summit.

On the top of the Milriça Mountain there is a first order geodesic vortex (587 metres high), a central pont in Portugal's maps. Besides that, there are wonderful views of the houses in Vila de Rei, the villages around it and a geomorphology dominated by schist and quartzite. The dark green pine trees, cut at times by the white villages, composes the most lovely canvas. To reach the top, one must depart from Vila de Rei to the road that leads to Fundada (in the north direction) and later on turn right.

It is in the old town's casemates that the Military Historical Museum was created, an interactive space in which the History of Portugal is reconstituted, from medieval times to the most recent centuries, with a focus on the Peninsular Wars and, of course, on the invasion and siege of Almeida. Located in the basement of the Baluarte de S. João de Deus, within the walled area, the Casemates are 20 underground houses, made up of a perfect round vault, with the purpose of military defense. They were also known as Quartéis Velhos, given the lack of barracks to house infantry.

The Oliva Art Center is an exhibition and collection management center created in 2013 as part of the project to reconvert one of the most symbolic industrial buildings in São João da Madeira - the Oliva factory and foundry. From its origin, the Art Center houses two large private collections: the Norlinda and José Lima Collection, one of Portugal's largest private collections of contemporary art; and the Treger / Saint Silvestre art brut and singular art collection, one of the largest of its kind in the Iberian Peninsula.

18th century palace of two storeys and v. plant was built in 1727 by the 8th count of Vimioso and 2nd Marquis of Valença, Don Francisco de Paula de Portugal e Castro. This building functioned as casino, high school, home of the Junta Autónoma de Agricultural Hydraulic works, extension of Oeiras high school and secondary school. He currently works as cultural Centre: Municipal Library, Dance Center of Oeiras and Centre for the study and dissemination of ancient music.

Built on an escarpment above the Douro River, Serra do Pilar, and with Porto as a backdrop, the monument is a former convent of the Canons Regular of Santo Agostinho, founded in 1537. This work has undergone a significant number of transformations which completely modified the initial project, presenting a circular shape and being surrounded by a balcony and topped by a light lantern. The interior features 18th century carvings and sculptures and the upper part is of Baroque origin, being considered a unique example in Portugal due to the circular church and cloister.
