It belongs to the Ancient Massif of Trás-os-Montes, located to the North of Bragança, in the border with Spain. Part of the Natural Park of the Montesinho Mountain, this is where it reaches its tallest altitude: 1481 metres.One can take several pedestrian walks, mountain bike or drive a car along the rivers and getting acquainted with fauna and th fora of the region, as well as its typical villages and its archaeological vestiges.

The original construction is of the 1500s and it was several times enlarged later. Nonetheless, the left side of the house, the entire south side of the back and some gargoyles remain the same. The upper floor has eight windows. The right part is of the beginning of the century and it forms a turret with three floors. Before the central part, of the 1700s, there is a stone flight of stairs.

The Godmother's House complex consists of three buildings located in the village of Northeast: the Godmother's House itself, the Home of the fireplace and the grandparents ' House. The first two are located on the main road, right at the entrance of the village, and are recognizable by the unique trait of their typical architecture. The grandparents ' House is located within the town and is the only one with two rooms to offer.

Bridge over the Varosa river, made up of five broken arches, the central arch being taller and wider. The inclined board forms an obtuse angle, with a parapet. On the right side of the bridge stands a tower. Both were built in the 12th century. It is the most complete and expressive example of a medieval bridge with a protection and toll tower.

Situated on the right bank of the River Douro, three kilometres from its mouth, the marina do Freixo serves those who use the river for recreation, work, tourism or sport. Has winch until 10 tons, place for 78 vessels to 16 meters long, as well as restaurant, changing rooms and a Yacht Club.
