Located in the heart of the Serra da Cabreira, among magnificent steep rocks, the Salamonde dam allows for the practice of sports with restrictions. It is a vault-type dam on the Cávado River.
The parish of Vilar da Veiga, right in the Peneda-Gerês Natural Park (on the southernmost side of the Gerês) is extremely rich in natural resources (belvederes, rocky formations and waterfalls).
The Homem River is a tributary on the right bank of the Cávado, with a length of 37 kilometers. It rises in the Serra do Gerês and it is on this river that the Vilarinho das Furnas hydroelectric plant is located.
The Ocreza River stretches for about eighty kilometers, from its source in the Serra da Gardunha to its confluence with the Tagus River. It is a periodic river with several tributaries.

Mondim da Beira River Beach is a pleasant space with some trees and shade. Ideal for cooling off and taking a dip in contact with nature in its purest form.
The Senhora da Ribeira stands out for its privilged location with excellent views of the Douro river. Its service is quite friendly and its cuisine rather good.
