The Caldeira, a crater 2000 meters in diameter and 400 meters deep, results from the volcanic nature of Faial Island. It's a beauty for the eyes, as long as the weather conditions alow it. Access to the conditioned interior, subject to the Faial Natural Park Guide. Inland, the diversity of botanical habitats deserves to be highlighted: laurel forest, cedar forests, peat bogs, reeds, among others.

Situated on Três Irmãos beach, the restaurant and bar Caniço is literally located in a grotto of the cliff. Access via a tunnel and a lift, from the Village of Prainha. Fresh fish and seafood dominate a menu. Good wine list. As one would expect, the restaurant is closed during the winter.

Built between the second half of the 13th century and the beginning of the 14th century, the Vilar Tower is a symbol of seigniorial power over the territory and proof of the existence of a "domus fortis," a fortified manor house in the Sousa Valley. It is a five-story building with granite ashlar masonry. The tower was illuminated by Romanesque-style arrow slits and accessed through an arched doorway with a tympanum.

This religious building was founded in 1708 by Domingos Lourenço Perdigão. It was here that the prisoners out of jail in the area came to fulfill the divine offices.
