The Caldeira, a crater 2000 meters in diameter and 400 meters deep, results from the volcanic nature of Faial Island. It's a beauty for the eyes, as long as the weather conditions alow it. Inland, the diversity of botanical habitats deserves to be highlighted: laurel forest, cedar forests, peat bogs, reeds, among others.

One of the most fantastic beach restaurants throughout the Algarve and also one of the oldest. Situated on Três Irmãos beach, the restaurant and bar Caniço is literally located in a grotto of the cliff. Access via a tunnel and a lift, from the Village of Prainha. Fresh fish and seafood dominate a menu. Good wine list. As one would expect, the restaurant is closed during the winter.

The Art Center began its activities in May 1986, with the intention of creating a space that would allow privileged access to cultural initiatives in terms of visual arts, as well as training in very specific areas of art not covered in academic curricula. It offers courses in painting, printmaking, tapestry, photography, and screen printing, among others, and activities such as exhibitions, workshops, and colloquia.

Built between the second half of the 13th century and the beginning of the 14th century, the Vilar Tower is a symbol of seigniorial power over the territory and proof of the existence of a "domus fortis," a fortified manor house in the Sousa Valley. It is a five-story building with granite ashlar masonry. The tower was illuminated by Romanesque-style arrow slits and accessed through an arched doorway with a tympanum.

Houses with culm rooftops, espigueiros (small cereal warehouses) and a communal oven in this mountain village. The craftwork, namely the manufacturing of the wool, are quite important. The traditional "Jogo do Pau" (a warrior game where the participants fight each other with wood sticks) still lives on here, thanks to a school where that art is taught.

Space resulting from the recovery of two 16th century farms with a total area of about 25 hectares, being the third largest green space in the capital. Here you can walk through paths where you'll see canals of water, a Lake, playgrounds, a small stage, exhibition area, a bar and a restaurant.

Medieval castle with a significant keep. Noteworthy in this fortification is the gate flanked by towers and a horseshoe arch made of local marble. The Torre da Cadeia and Porta Legal feature remains of Moorish architecture and Gothic tombstones commemorating the work. Located overlooking the village, from here, guests can enjoy beautiful views of the region.

This religious building was founded in 1708 by Domingos Lourenço Perdigão. It was here that the prisoners out of jail in the area came to fulfill the divine offices. Inside you can see traces of Baroque-style moral. Its architecture is simple, rectangular and the decoration is Baroque, as neatly and can see in primitive murals and outdoor balcony grills.

Founded in the 19th century, this aquarium features 93 aquariums with thousands of different species. Here you'll find Atlantic, tropical, and freshwater marine fauna. Highlights include the collections of stuffed fish and seashells, as well as a collection of King Carlos's fish. It opened in 1898 to commemorate the fourth centenary of the discovery of the sea route to India.

Architectural design very original, designed by Souto Moura, which is deployed on the slopes of Mount Castro. This stadium, with 30 thousand seats covered and only two stands, has aroused national and international interest for the beauty of the space, being considered a real masterpiece.
