This is a section of a trans-European Pedestrian Route, which starts in Lisbon Parque das Nações and ends in the Romanian city of Constanza. This thing about 80 miles, starts in the igreja matriz de Idanha-a-Nova, passing through the dam, campsite, Alcafozes, Idanha-a-Velha, Penha Garcia quartz cliffs and Termas de Monfortinho, ending in Spain.

A carne de porco preto representa um dos produtos regionais mais reconhecidos de Barrancos. O porco é criado ao ar livre, andando entre azinheiras e sobreiros, alimentando-se de erva e da "boleta" (bolota), nome em que se inspira este espaço.

Os artesãos desta zona trabalham os cabos das bengalas esculpindo formas de cabeças de animais (cobras, cães e outros). As madeiras usadas são o lódão e a cerejeira e, em menor escala, o castanheiro e a macieira. Na sua decoração utiliza-se o latão.

A boleima de Castelo de Vide é um doce simples de confecionar à base de água, farinha, azeite e sal. É sobretudo um doce tradicional da Páscoa e pode ser condimentado com outros ingredientes, como as nozes ou o doce de maçã.
