This wonderful country house is placed in an area of outstanding beauty (UNESCO 2001). There are many beautiful walks to the Douro River, through vineyards and valleys. There are opportunities to visit (and taste) the local wines and ports – surely the best you will find. You will have the opportunity to experience the culture, the scenery and the history of this wonderful region, well known for the richness it has shown since the foundation of Portugal. The famous Portuguese writer Miguel Torga described the Douro region as “an excess of beauty”.

At the Centro Ciência Viva de Estremoz, visitors can discover how planet Earth works. Here, science and technology break through the confining laboratory walls, reaching out to visitors, allowing them to interact with the exhibits.

This estate represents how agrarian houses were during the 17th century. The agrarian houses possessed the lord house, the cotter house, a thrashing floor, the barn and a chapel. The lightning goes to the south façade, to the balconies and frames in granite.

A 2.5-kilometer trail integrated into the Serras de Aire e Candeeiros Natural Park. The starting and ending points are the Vale de Ventos Welcome Center. Its main attractions, traditional architecture, flora and fauna, and panoramic views, make this tour a pleasant surprise.

A classical Italian horseshoe theater, very rare in Portugal. Inside, the wooden structure of the boxes stands out, with decorative gilded stucco applications. Eclectic decorative elements are also visible in the main hall: the walls are decorated with shell-shaped moldings and (neoclassical) festoons with stucco symbols alluding to the theater. There are also hints of Neo-Baroque and Art Nouveau styles (iron railings on the large window).

Museum opened in 1921, located in the Church of Santa Maria do Castelo, classified as a national monument. Here you can visit an extensive historical and artistic collection: Archaeology, painting, sculpture, liturgical vestments, sacred art and ethnography. Still has a room for temporary exhibitions.

Built in 1617, it underwent modifications in the 18th century. On the main facade there are three windows, the sides being blind and the central one open, with a grille, topped by a panel of blue and white tiles depicting Saint Anthony. The pediment is cut out, with two small bell towers on the sides. The interior is of a nave, with the main altar in marble.

An 18th-century palace with a façade bordered by two turrets and an entrance surmounted by a pediment rising above the cornice. The rhythm of the openings, wrought iron, stonework, and chapel are remarkable. The central section ends in a triangular gable with a coat of arms, and the rest of the façade features simple rectangular openings on the ground floor and bay windows on the main floor.

A place with wonderful panoramic views of the island's high areas and of the ocean.

This is one of the few Flemish features bread Mills left in the island.
