The Praça da Liberdade has known several names along the centuries. Its construction was due to the progressive growing of the city. The trail takes two to three hours to complete at a leisurely pace, and this already includes 10 minutes to read and take in the descriptive panels. The panels allow the visitors to further their understanding of the region and are entitled: Cordão Dunar, Lagoa dos Salgados and Zona húmida dos Salgados. The sand and earth trail is easy providing the visitor keeps to the worn path.

Located on the foothils of Barroso Mountain, Vilarinho Seco is one of the most well preserved and characteristic villages in the region. The granite espigueiros (small cereal warehouses), the houses with culm rooftops and some of the inhabitants in traditional clothes create an interesting traditional atmosphere.
